01 Apr NICALIZO NAMED HEIRLOOM CACAO

Our Nicalizo® variety was determined to be Heirloom Cocoa by the Heirloom Cacao Preservation (HCP) initiative!

Nicalizo® is a Trinitario-Acriollado variety, and is produced in the tropical forests of the northern mountains of Nicaragua.

Heirloom beans are distinctive in their characteristics and present special/unusual but well-balanced flavors produced through the beans’ genetics, terroir, and post-harvest processing.

The HCP initiative mission is to identify and preserve fine flavor cacao for the conservation of biological diversity and the empowerment of farming communities.
